CHARACTER

This product is a dark brown colloidal solution.

PHARMACODYNAMICS ACTION

Pharmacodynamics Iron is the main component of hemoglobin and myoglobin. Hemoglobin is the main oxygen carrier in red blood cells. Myoglobin is the site where muscle cells store oxygen to assist in the supply of oxygen during muscle exercise. Most enzymes and factors related to the tricarboxylic acid cycle contain iron or function only in the presence of iron. Therefore, after active supplementation of iron in iron deficient animals, in addition to accelerated hemoglobin synthesis, symptoms related to tissue iron deficiency and decreased iron-containing enzyme activity, such as growth retardation, behavioral abnormalities, and insufficient physical strength, can be gradually corrected.

Pharmacokinetics The absorption of iron for injection is faster than oral administration; After intramuscular injection of iron dextran, the blood drug concentration reached a peak 24 to 48 hours, and its molecular weight was large, which was absorbed by the lymphatic vessels and then transferred into the blood. The blood drug concentration increased slowly; After being absorbed into the blood circulation by intravenous or intramuscular injection, it is phagocytized and decomposed into iron and dextran by the mononuclear phagocytic system. After absorption, iron ions are oxidized by ceruloplasmin in the blood to trivalent iron ions, which bind to transferrin receptors and enter the cells in the form of pinocytosis for use by hematopoietic cells. They can also accumulate in the form of ferritin or hemosiderin in the liver, spleen, bone marrow, and other mononuclear phagocytic systems. The protein binding rate is high in hemoglobin, low in myoglobin, enzymes, and proteins that transport iron, and low in ferritin or ferrihemoglobin.

FUNCTION AND USE

Anti anemia drugs. For iron deficiency anemia in foals, calves, piglets, puppies, and fur animals.

USAGE AND DOSAGE

Intramuscular injection: one dose, 2-6ml for foals and calves; Piglets 1-2 ml; 0.2-2ml for puppies; Fox 0.5~2ml; Mink 0.3~1ml.

ADVERSE REACTIONS

Piglets injected with iron may occasionally experience standing instability due to muscle weakness, which can lead to death in severe cases.

NOTICE

(1) This product is highly toxic and requires strict control of the intramuscular injection dose.

(2) Intramuscular injection can cause local pain and should be injected deeply into the muscle.

(3) Injection into pigs over 4 weeks of age can cause coloration of the gluteal muscles.

(4) It needs to be protected against freezing, and sedimentation can occur if left standing for a long time.

(5) Iron salts can react with many chemical substances or drugs, so they should not be administered simultaneously or in combination with other drugs.
